These dates vary slightly from year to year because of the astronomical characteristics of the Earth's orbit around the Sun - but they are a good general guide. As the Zodiac is circular and apparently encompasses the heavens, it can be divided into 360 degrees - which means that each of the twelve signs will be 30 degrees each in length. So the position of the Sun can be measured - for example, 15 degrees and 20 minutes of Aries, or perhaps 10 degrees and 40 minutes of Gemini. |
